We enjoyed El Museo Cultural so much that we will be holding Recycle Santa Fe there in 2007 as well. El Museo, located in Santa Fe's Railyard in the Guadalupe District, will host many of Santa Fe's major conferences, expos and art markets in 2006 & 2007. HISTORY OF RECYCLE SANTA FE The Recycled Art Market was the core idea for this whole festival.
Conceived at a local craft show on a lazy Sunday afternoon in 1999 by
Mark Dabelstein and Joe Buffalo Nickels, they both
wanted a specialized market to showcase recycled art. A
serendipitous connection with Nancy Judd at Santa Fe Beautiful propelled
the idea to our first efforts that November.

Welcome to the Recycle
Recycle Santa Fe Art Festival will celebrate its 10th year November 14-16, 2008 at El Museo Cultural de Santa Fe. In cooperation with Keep Santa Fe Beautiful and their recycling efforts surrounding America Recycles 2008 and New Mexico Recycling Awareness Month, Recycle Santa Fe is one of the hippest, eco-conscious art markets and juried art events of its time. The Recycle Santa Fe Art Festival episode of Enchantments, a New Mexico travel show, aired June 1st and will air again August 31st at 7:00 am on New Mexico's CW (KWBQ) and 10:00 am on My50-TV (KASY), and on June 29th 4:30 pm on PBS (KRWG). Friday Highlights: The famous, wild and crazy Trash Fashion & Costume Contest. The most original fashion show in Santa Fe at 7:00 PM! There will be an American Sign Language interpreter for the Trash Fashion show. Saturday & Sunday Highlights: Kids Recycled Art Activities lead by local Artists. Music Make and Take Art Activities More to come! Admission: Friday night $5 to Art Market and $10 to both the Art Market and Trash Fashion and Costume contest premier seating area. Saturday/Sunday Free! General Admission to the entire event is free for kids under 12. Children must pay the $5 entrance fee for a seat at the fashion show, unless they are in a parent or guardian's lap. There is a free closed circuit viewing area of the fashion show available to adults and children. Bring the family, get your holiday shopping started early and learn a thing or two about recycling.
